Privacy Policy

TrapWise ("the app") is designed so that your survey data stays yours. This policy explains what the app collects and where it goes.
Data you enter
Plant, area, trap, inspection, photo and report data you enter is stored on your device. If you use iCloud, it syncs through Apple's CloudKit service to your own iCloud account so it's available on your other devices. We (the developer) cannot access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data we collect
We do not collect personal data, run analytics or advertising trackers in the app, or sell data. We do not require an account.
Camera, photos and NFC
The app uses the camera to scan QR labels and photograph traps and nameplates, and NFC to read and write trap tags. Images and tag reads are processed on your device and stored only with your survey data.
NFC tags and QR labels
Tags written by TrapWise contain only a link with a random trap ID (for example, trapwise.app/t/…). No plant or trap data is stored on the tag. This website does not log or look up those IDs.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We receive no payment details from Apple, only confirmation of what you've purchased.
This website
This website uses no cookies or analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
Children
TrapWise is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date.
